Samuell Tillton's Ceitificate concerniiif; his marriage &c. Whereas Samuell Tillton & patience Allen both of the County
of Monmouth in the province of east New Jersey having intentions of marriage with each other did in two public meetings of the
people called Quakers declare theire intentions of marriage with each other desireing the consent & approbation of the said meet-
ings & upon inquiry made by persons appointed by the said meeting for that purpose All things Appeareing clear to them (both)
as to Consent of parents iS: clearness from all others in Relation to Marriage the Sd meetings gave their Consent to them finish-
ing theire Sd ; intentions &c These are therefore to Certify all persons that upon the 5th day of the 4th mo. 1705 in a public
meeting of the people Called Quakers, and others appointed for that purpose at the meeting house of friends at Shrowsbery where
in the Presence of God & before the assembly the Sd : Samuell Tillton took this friend Patience Allen to be his wife untill death
separate them cS: in like manner Patience Allen declares friends in the presence of God and before the assembly I take this my
friend Samuell Tillton to be my husband untill death separates us in Confirmation of wch. the parties themselves have first of all
subscribed their names (hereunto) she the Sd. Patience then taking upon her the name of her husband & we being then Present
have Subscribed our names as witnesses :
