Info Found on Yahoo ( Harbour Public House - Our History ) and Story Read Capt Alvin and Mary Oliver, from Bristol Maine, had a Landing, Store, Boat Yard and Farm here (1890-1912) that employed the Sumiyoshi Family.
Later Capt. Benjamin T Tilton and his Harriette from Martha's Vineyard Mass, purchased Oliver's Properties. A Retired Arstic Whaler, Capt Tilton was a Member of the Prestigious Explorer's Club of N.Y.C. Nominated for Membership by the Famed Arctic Explorer, ( Vilhjalmur Stefansson ).
Tilton and many others helped the Berry Industry grow through a Period of Discriminatory State Alien Land Laws and the great Depression.

Benjamin married Harriet Bailey Norton, daughter of Isaac Carroll Norton and Euphemia Adelia Burden, on 24 Dec 1897 in Chilmark , M/Vineyard /Maine. (Harriet Bailey Norton was born on 8 Apr 1870 in New Bedford Mass, died on 27 Aug 1948 in Albany Alameda California and was buried Sunset Cemetery in Berkeley Alameda California.)
